Field Trip and Weekly Homework Assignment
Class,
We are looking at October 19th for our trip to the Buddhist Temple followed by lunch at a local Thai restaurant. We are working out details for our meet-up, but if you need a ride let us know next week.
I have a couple of challenges for you this week:
1. Watch this video on the Byzantine Empire. This was the weakest area on our Jeopardy game, so let's take a few minutes to learn a little bit more.
2. Check out this video on China's History and Confucianism. It'll give you a great background into Confucianism before you begin your readings.
3. Prepare FIVE trivia cards from either these videos or your readings to stump your classmates. Now, make sure these are thoughtful trivia cards with the kinds of questions that might help each of you to retain important information, and not something like, "What did John Green say at 3:13?" :)
4. Bring in your notebooks for us to see what you've learned on Hinduism and your notes on Buddhism. You should be starting to fill out information on Confucianism, which is our next chapter in World Religions.
5. Order The Tao of Pooh for November's reading. :)
