Hinduism Field Trip
Hi Class,
This next week we will be doing some art in class and checking out a bit of Bollywood culture, Hindu symbolism, and discussing Chapter 3 in your Silk Roads. You should be finishing up your chapter on Hinduism in the Religions of the World book, which is perfect timing because we are looking at taking a field trip on Friday, September 7th to the Hindu Temple in Temple, Texas. Now, we will not participate in any religious ceremonies, but we hope to be able to tour the temple and meet with a few people to better understand Hinduism. Afterwards, we will be heading over to Roopa's Indian Kitchen in Temple for lunch, so please bring lunch money. :) Parents are welcome to join us. We will have a more defined timeline worked out shortly, but we will likely meet in Target's parking lot in Harker Heights and caravan out there. I have room in my vehicle for five students and Preston can also fit a few students in his vehicle.
For this week's journal, please complete all the data on Hinduism's chart, answering all of the major questions. Find one current event and write a short reflection on what you've learned about Hinduism this far and what questions you have remaining.
