Week One Homework Assignment

                                                     

Throughout this course, we would like for you to keep a journal with your reflections and your insights instead of academic papers. While these are certainly less formal than traditional academic writing, please still use full sentences and proper grammar. We will use these during our class discussions each week, so please thoroughly consider and answer each question. 

                                            Week One Journal Prompt and Homework

1.     Look up the Pew Forum Religious Quiz online and compare your religious literacy with that of the average American. What religions would you like to know more about and why?

2.     Why is religious literacy important even for people who are not religious? 

3.     Are there particular elements or characteristics that something must have for it to be considered a religion? If so, what are they?
